Specialists in Analog Mastering

The first album I ever worked on won a Mercury Music Prize. Since then I’ve dedicated my time to building Sound Sauce, delivering grammy-quality mastering at a reasonable cost.

Things are changing in the music industry. Developments in AI technology and changes in the way we collaborate have turned our music into a “fast-fashion” race to the bottom. There’s less and less room for true artistry and passion. That’s why we we’re keeping tradition of real, handcrafted analog mastering alive.

We stand for a more personal music industry that rewards creativity and artistry. That’s why, though most studios have moved on to being fully digital to keep costs down,  we stop at nothing to keep quality to a maximum: we use a mix of custom-built analog gear and ultra-high-precision digital processors, and finish each master with our famous custom Studer A80 tape machine.

We think musicians at any level should be able to deliver their music to the same high standard – that’s why we’re priced to be fair and accessible to all. Comparing like-for-like, music mastered by Sound Sauce receives, on average, 16x higher listenership than an AI-mastered song. In this crowded marketplace, you need the edge that only a truly crafted master can give.

It’s our job to make sure your music sounds great and ready for release – so you can concentrate on your art.

We’re not a corporation.

To us, your music isn’t “just another job”. It’s our life.

We’re not robots.

We’re artists. We spend time and care working with creatives on their art. And it shows: our masters consistently see 10x better listening performance compared with AI masters.

We’re not amateurs.

We’ve worked with incredible musicians in the UK and worldwide for over a decade, and bring that experience to every job we do.

We are a small team of analog mastering engineers in Sheffield, UK.
